Microwave Cooking - Electronic Griller

Expert: Donovan Fandre - 4/3/2008

Question
my quest is that wht is the difference b/w microwave grill, electronic griller , and sandwich maker

Answer
Dear Esh, I'm not quite sure of your question but I'll try to answer it the best I can. A microwave grill can be one installed in the oven itself. It consists of a heating element on the top of the oven cavity that will grill foods when placed on a rack placed under the grill. There are also microwave grills that are coated with a material that becomes very hot when preheated in a microwave oven. You preheat the grill and place food within and put it back in the microwave to complete the cooking.I am not familiar with electronic grills but they might be the same as Italian "panini type grills" that are similar to an electric  waffle iron in that they have a top and bottom that contain heating elements. You preheat the grill and place the food inside, close the grill, and cook the food until it's done as you like. Hope this helps. None of these appliances work as well as a skillet or conventional grill.
