Question trying to put the top of a pie on the crust and its tearing apart from the pan ..i put the apples in the bottom crust and now i put the top on with the pan it came in when i start pulling it tares what can i do ? OH BY THE WAY HAPPY HOLIDAYS.......
Answer Hey Kitty, thanks for the query. I'm happy you've discovered that microwaving pies is really an easy and energy saving way to bake them. Here's how to make pies the microwave way. Transfer a frozen crust from the metal pan to a glass one of the same size. Mix your sliced apples with the sugar and seasionings and place in the frozen bottom crust. Remove the frozen top crust from the pan before it has a chance to defrost. Place the top crust over the apples and microwave on high for about 15 minutes or until the apples are soft. Transfer the pie to a toaster oven or regular oven and bake for about 10 minutes at 400 degrees or until the crust is brown and flaky. The trick of removing a frozen pie crust from the pan is to do it when the crust is still frozen. Check my website, jumpstartcooking.com for more tips.
