AboutJaycie Miller Expertise I'm in high school right now and I know all the bad things you have to go through as a teenager. I chose to go through those things alone. I have been through bad friends, peer pressure, drugs, sex, and even suicide and death. Some of these things I experienced through other people but I have felt the affects of them. I have found ways to stay away from the bad things and ways to attract the good things. Middle school is tough enough so you don't need the pressure of doing things alone on you either. Ask me anything and I'll do my best to help. Please tell me your age with your question so I am able to answer it better.
Experience My experience comes from being a school peer counselor, my friends, and my personal experiences.
Education/Credentials I've been on the High Honor Roll, National Jr. Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

Question My friend's school is not allowing her back for her grade nine year (I'm in a Canadian school) because they think she won't do well next year. She's not failing, she's passing, but they won't let her reregister. Is this even legal, considering that they only gave her a week's notice to improve her grades? Are they allowed to kick someone out because they think the student "won't do well"? Is it possible to talk the school into letting her reregister?
Answer Hey Kristen,
I'm not sure if it's legal or not. I live in the U.S. and it is illegal here. But we have a "No Child Left Behind" Act that makes it so kids have to be in school. You can prove that your friend is a good person and maybe then the school will let her back in. They might just be worried about the other students or their reputation. You might be able to make a "deal" with them. It is almost impossible to raise a grade in a week. Teachers don't give enough assignments to have her grade raise in a week. Talk to the school and go from there. They need to give her a chance.
