About Jaycie Miller
Expertise
I'm in high school right now and I know all the bad things you have to go through as a teenager. I chose to go through those things alone. I have been through bad friends, peer pressure, drugs, sex, and even suicide and death. Some of these things I experienced through other people but I have felt the affects of them. I have found ways to stay away from the bad things and ways to attract the good things. Middle school is tough enough so you don't need the pressure of doing things alone on you either. Ask me anything and I'll do my best to help. Please tell me your age with your question so I am able to answer it better.

Experience
My experience comes from being a school peer counselor, my friends, and my personal experiences.

Education/Credentials
I've been on the High Honor Roll, National Jr. Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

Question
QUESTION: I'm in middle school but the problem is i keep falling down the stairs at school it can be embarrassing

ANSWER: Hi Zoe,
Well, to tell you the truth, I am probably either the best or worst person to ask this question to. I fall down a lot. I run into things. I trip. The list just gets longer. So I have a lot of experience in this area but I haven't really found a way to fix the issue yet. Just today I was walking down the hall and the window was open. The windows at my school open up into the school so the glass sticks out into the hall. Ando, of course with my luck, I run right into it. I now have a huge goose egg on my head and it is slowly changing colors. Just be able to laugh it off. My clumsiness is now kind of expected. Everyone always tells me to be careful walking down the stairs now because I have fallen down them so much. There have been a couple times that I have fallen down in front of the entire school during assemblies. Just don't let it get to you. Laugh it off and stand up really fast. It might be a problem with your shoes. Make sure you pick up your feet when you walk. If it gets worse or something, you might want to see a doctor but I really think that you are just one of us clumsy people that make life fun. Don't worry about it and don't be embarrassed. Everyone has those moments and if you want I can give you a list of mine to make you believe me. Again, just laugh it off and have fun.

QUESTION: could i be falling down because I'm blind in one eye

Answer
How long have you been blind? If it's been recent, then yes it could cause you to fall down because to you, the world is only one-sided. I don't know if being blind actually changes your balance but you can google that or ask a doctor or something. If it's been a while since you were blind, I don't think that it has a lot to do with you falling down. Our bodies are able to make up for what is lost. It's kind of like how deaf people can read lips really well most of the time and totally blind people hear differences in people's walks. After a while your body gets used to what you have and it deals with it. If it really concerns you go to a doctor and ask them. They will know a lot more than me. There are things that will help you stay balanced. There are lots of things that will help. But remember that it's okay to fall down. Just laugh it off. But if it worries you go to a doctor and see what you can do. Best of luck!!
