About Bill Taylor
Expertise I can answer questions about admissions to West Point; about the history of West Point; about how to travel to West Point, where to eat, where to stay, etc.; and about West Point`s alumni organization, the West Point Association of Graduates.
Experience I am a 1970 Graduate of West Point. I served six years on active duty and another 8 years in the active reserve. I have been actively involved as a Field Admissions Representative for over 15 years and have participated on my Congressman's Academy Selection Panel for over 20 years. I am actively involved in West Point Alumni affairs, serving in roles both with the West Point Association of Graduates and the local alumni chapter in Annapolis, MD. I also have two sons who graduated from West Point in 1995 and 2001. Both are veterans of the Iraq war and continue to serve on Active Duty in the Army.

Question I have used your advise many time already and you have been a huge help. But i have a few more, conserning the fittness test. Do I need to score 100 on each event? Also I have ecently got a job so my school involvement is somewhat limited. I try to be involved in school as much as possiable but does West point admissions take this into consideration. Also I was told There are people called leasons who help candidates with their applacation process? is that true? Is their any way I can find anyone local? thank you once againe for your help!
Answer It's good to hear from you, Cullen. Thanks for your interest in West Point. I apologize for the delayed response as I have been slammed with travel and work.
As to the Candidate Fitness Assessment, you definitely do not need to score perfectly on each event. My best advice is to practice the events and do your best on each and every one.
Admissions definitely recognizes the accomplishment of holding a steady job while maintaining academic performance. The job in lieu of school involvement should not hurt your competitive position.
The Field Force Admissions Representatives definitely provide liaison services between candidates and the Academy. I would suggest that you call Admissions at 845-938-4041, navigate the interactive response system to connect with your Regional Admissions Team. Introduce yourself and ask them to refer you to the Field Force Member covering your area. That is the best way to connect with them.
Good luck in your quest, Cullen.
Best Regards,
Bill Taylor
