Question
Dear sir,
Hi how are you? My name is tommy and i was just cleaning out my grandfathers desk and found an old bayonet. I did some research online but am unable to fine the one i have anywhere and was wondering if you could help me identify what i have? It has a wooden handle with the number 377 engraved in one side and then 39/1 engraved on the other side. On the top of the handle close to the blade there is a small triangle with an arrow pointing to the blade. The blade has absolutely zero marking on it but is half serrated and has a small hole about the the size of a pea in the middle of it. the sleeve is also wood and has the number 377 engraved in it. The top of the sleeve appears to be a metal can opener.
Thanks for the help
Tommy

Answer

Iveshk AKM bayonet
Thomas:

Is there any way you could send a picture?

It sounds like a Russian AK-47 bayonet made by Iveshk for the AKM.  The Triangle and Arrow is their makers mark.    There is a pin on the sheath, that fits on the hole in the blade to make a primative set of sissors, to cut barbed wire with, the tip of the blade and the notch at the tip of the sheath is where you would put the wire then close gripping the sheath and the knife handle you'd close it like a pair of hedge clippers.
