Question
I'm a gamer, and I'm interested into military history. I don't know where to start with. Any recommended book list? I'm especially interested into tactics and the studies the actual battles and maps. I prefer WWII. Thanks ahead of your reply!

Answer
Greetings

I would start with a good general history of the Second World War.  The below book is a good place to start
The Second World War: A Complete History (Paperback)
~ Sir Martin Gilbert (Author)
Then move on to
Great Battles of World War II
~ John MacDonald

I can also recommend some games that are great teachers of World War 2.  One would be Company of Heroes a very good real time strategy game just after D-day.  Also the original Call of Duty is a superb way to see World War 2 from the level of an infantry man.  There are several older games that I also highly recommend. One would be Panzer General.  This game came out in 1994 but is one of the best ways to see in action German tactics in conquering Europe.  Silent Hunter is another older game that is a superb submarine simulator.

The below links are good place to start your research also check out you local library and Google books.

Thank you and I wish you success.
