I have just inherited a photo album and a brief detailed history from my recently departed uncle George J Jacks.  He served in the 178th from call up, DDay until his honorable discharge. I have a lot of information to sift through but if anyone is interested I can easily scan and send parts....

Dear Mr. Hughes,

From the "brief detailed history" would you be so kind as to share with me the name of the troop ship that transported the 178th Ordnance Depot Company overseas during WW 2?

Can answer: World War Two. Specifically, the troop transport ships that took US Military Personnel overseas & returned them to the US, 1941-47. Also, unit history of US Army QM, Signal, MP, Ordnance, Medical, Transportation & Engineer units that served during WW 2. The more obscure units are my specialty. If you have the APO that a Veteran sent letters from or received letters at, I can look up the history of that APO.
