Einstein's letter to Roosevelt (which was responsible for the Manhatten Project) stated that the Germans already had the development of an atomic bomb underway. Their program was s;pwed because of the need for highly precise math tables. The USA had already developed these tables when the CCC kept mathematicians employed calculation them after the Great Depression. Further, a barge load of D2O which had been manufactured for the radioactive bomb research program was sank in a Swedish lake by sabbatouche during WWII.
