Question
I AM LOOKING FOR INFORMATION ON MY FATHER'S UNIT HE WAS IN WWII FROM 1942 TO 1945. HE WAS IN THE HQ BTRY 118 GUN BN AAA.

Answer
Greetings
I have found a few items of interest.  On the unit deployed to England in December 1943 in style.  The 118th sailed on the Queen Mary along with over 10,000 other troops.  One of few ships that skipped conveys because of her great speed.  After D-Day they served in France protecting Allied troops.  On December 6 1944 they replaced their sister unit the 115th near Commercy France.  Near the end of the war the unit helped with POWs.  I donít have anything else in my records.  I have included some links that will help.  The best action is to request your Fatherís service record; the first link will help.   There is a link to a story by a member of the 115th AAA which preformed many of the same duties as your Fatherís unit.
Please check out the links and Thank you
