My father-in-law passed away 4 years ago but had recieved these from his uncle who lived in the Philippines. Have no history or knowledge of these but look to be Kris-style swords? Any knowledge where I can find more history?

Answer
Greetings
You indeed have a Kris or Keris style weapon.  When Japan invade and conquered the Philippines Japanese army officers stole and bought the native blades by the hundreds if not thousands.  When the US returned the Army soldiers most never seeing the Philippines blades gathered them up and sent many home thinking they were Japanese weapons.  The Kris in many forms is used all over the Pacific.  It is also a poplar weapon in Indonesia.
