Dear sir my father wrote letters from Apo 149  co pm with two unit numbers  the 2072 nd and 2208 th QM truck Co.I am trying to retrace his movements in Euorpe. Any information you might have would help me.

Dear Sir,
       Thank You for your question.  APO 149 was assigned to HQ, Ninth Air Force Service Command.  APO 149 was activated December 1, 1943.  Its first location was Sunninghill, England, beginning February 10, 1944 followed by Creil, France, beginning September 26, 1944.  Next was Luxembourg City, Luxembourg, beginning April 27, 1945 & concluding at Erlangen, Germany, beginning August 13, 1945.
       The 2072nd QM Truck Company participated in five Campaigns:

Normandy          June 6-July 24, 1944
Northern France   July 25-September 14, 1944
Rhineland         September 15, 1944-March 21, 1945
Ardennes-Alsace   December 16, 1944-January 15, 1945
Central Europe    March 22-May 8, 1945

and was awarded a Meritorious Unit Commendation for the period June 6-September 6, 1944.  General Order #78; HQ, Ninth Airforce Service Command (APO 149) awarded June 26, 1945.  Also, served in the Army of Occupation in Germany, May 20-October 31, 1945.
       The 2208th QM Truck Company participated in three Campaigns:

Northern France
