Question
My Dad was with the 554th base unit ending up in Ft. Dix, New Jersey. I can't find any information on this unit. Will you be able to help me?

Answer
I have the 554th Army Air Force Base Unit (AAFBU) was out of Memphis ,Tenn in 1946 and was part of Air Transport Command(Ferrying Division) , one other mention of it being out of Love Field, Dallas Texas , but not sure on the latter being correct .

Sorry I don't have more to offer on this , but hope the above does help you some !

Happy hunting !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
P.S. do you have anything else with "unit" designations/year dates ? Or any photos of him with patches or aircraft showing, sometimes this helps in ID of bases etc .
