Military History/Knife

My husband inherited two knives from his great grandfather and we can't find any information on the attached picture. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

You have a DRK knife also called a German Red Cross Hewer.  This was a blade given to German Red Cross volunteers until 1940.  The serrated edge was used to cut plaster off of broken legs after they had healed.  Not a weapon but a tool for battlefield medics.
I hope this helps and they are worth between 700 to 1000 dollars according to some auctions.
Thank you and check out the link
