Question
Why did India and Pakistan have all those wars to begin with? Was it political or ideological?

Answer

Dear Adam,

The first war that was fought between Pakistan and India was in 1947 and based on disputed territory of Kashmir which is still divided between the two countries. Of course over the passage of time these conflicts have taken on more of a religious and ideological color due to the various political and religious based parties that are part of the Governments both in India and Pakistan. The military conflict how ever remains mostly due to the Kashmir dispute. The Pakistani point of view is that being a muslim state it is fighting for the right to exist being neighbored with a country far bigger in size and strength. The Indian think tank views Pakistan as a hindrance towards its required hegemony in the sub continent.
