Military History/Shoulder Patch
I found this shoulder patch in my now deceased husband's army career memorabilia.
The patch is circular with a thin black border. There is a medium blue background with what looks like a united nations design (branches with leaves in a semicircle and a globe with black grids. Super imposed on this is a 1/2 inch silver bar horizontal, an anchor, and a star superimposed on top. I know that he was in South Korea during his career. But can not find any identification of the meaning after an extensive internet search.
Dear Ms. Wolverton,
Many unit patches were produced locally in the countries where U.S. troops were stationed. I haven't found anything in regard to your husband's unit patch. The best place would be the U.S. Army Institute of Heraldry which can be found at www.tioh.hqda.pentagon.mil
I hope this helps and May God Bless-Lt. Colonel Robert A. Lynn, Florida Guard
