Question
Might seem to be an inane question but where or who does the word Afgan come from. The reason i ask this is that i have noticed that afganistan is made up of numerous ethnic groups, of which many have parent countries outside Afganistan( Tajik, Uzbek etc.)

afghanistan is essentially a geograpic term referring to the country between indus and oxus rivers , land of the afghans, all races living in afghanistan come under the term the afghan millat and they speak a common language dari , a type of persian ...i am in remote area , for more exact details please get hold of american anthropologist Louis Dupree's book "Afghanistan" , its available in all libraries .
