Question QUESTION: I had a grandfather who recently passed away and he would always tell me about his days about playing pro football. He would tell me about how he played for the raiders for a few years but recently my grandmother and other family members told me about how he started out as a viking and they had so many memories of him being a viking.Could you tell me if he had ever played for them professionally or if he was a practice squad type of person and if you could direct me towards any websites that could share any further information with my family and I?
ANSWER: Sean,
I would be happy to help, but my powers of psycho kinesis are on the fritz and I just can not pick up on what his name is (I know it was just an oversight, but had to make a joke anyway). Let me know that and I will try to help the best I can.
---------- FOLLOW-UP ----------
QUESTION: I apologize for not including his name but his name is James DeJuliis.
Answer Sean,
I see no record of him in the books so that means he never officially played a down for the Vikings...at least not during the years they recorded.
Your best bet to find out the most would be to call the Vikings office in Winter Partk and ask the nice lady on the phone who you could speak with to find out about your grandfather. They do have an archives department and their public relations guys are pretty good too. If there is any record of your grandfather, they will have it.
My roads usually stop after the public domain stops so good luck with your findings. I just know he was not officially listed on an active roster, but he could have been a practice squad type player as you suggested and the Vikings organization might be able to help there more than I.
Hope this helps you on your quest.
