Question
my son is 5 yrs old.he is a single child.all his near cousins are in boarding school from age 5.my son is fond of his cousin and is always ready to go to boarding with his brother.but i am confused if boarding schools are good for children or not.moreover being a single child will he be pampered by us?will he feel inferior in later days if he is not sent to boarding school with his cousins(public schools offer more than the local schools here?which is best for a child...boarding or dayschool?how should i decide for my child?

Answer
Hi Rashmi,

A boarding life inculcates independence in a child. So if you can afford one and your son is ready to go, you should go ahead with the decision. Ensure that you keep in touch regularly, visit him often and he never misses on joys of childhood. Most parents do pamper kids these days to get rid of the guilt of not spending quality time with them.

Regards,

Vani
