I can answer any question you got about Guinea pigs,Rats, Hamsters, Mice,Chinchilla's,Gerbils,Hedgehogs, Squirrels, Rabbits...Basically all RODENTS . Feeding, breeding, sexing, cages, illness, places on the internet to learn more, ect.

Experience
I have 1 guinea pigs at this time one male. I also have two rats. Earlier this year 2008, we had 106 rats rescued in our rescue here in Lake City. I have had rodents for quite some time and even run my own pages and a rescue related to rodents. Each year we get several rodents that come in our rescue. From rabbits, rats, mice, gerbils, hamsters, and even exotics. It is fun and where many think that only cats and dogs need a place to come we often forget the little guys.

Miscellaneous Rodents - Chinchilla had a seizure

Expert: Dawn - 11/1/2009

Question
My chincilla had a seizure after running around he is 5 years old, what should I do, can I help him?

Answer
Seizures can be a lot of different things. It can be a one time thing from over excitment or something that is needing attention like low blood sugar. You need to first see if it happens again. Find out these things
1)Does it happen all the time
2)Is it when he plays, is pick up, after eating ?
3)How long does it last

Once you know this then you can talk to your vet about either medication or you can use corn syrup to bring the blood sugar up quickly.

Here is a great website that goes into further detail and may help. Thanks so much for asking :)
