AboutLinda Expertise I have done a lot of work on older Mitsubishi's. Whatever has gone on with someone's car has I am sure happen to the one I work on. A lot of things, though might be the computer it could be a sensor too. Whatever I am not sure of, I will then hunt up the question useing the net. Don't know much about body work or painting a car.
Experience The Mitsubishi Eclipse I work on has over 167,000 miles on it. If it could go wrong it has. I have learned a lot from working on the car, reading books and asking people who work on other cars.
Organizations Church, I am a Christian.
Education/Credentials Have some college course on engines, working on them and keeping them repaired. Read a lot of books and try to stay ahead of things.

Question From a stopped position, like a red light or a stop sign, when I press the gas to accelerate through the gears everything is fine until i let off the gas to coast, then unless i come to another stop, when I step on the gas again there is a hesitation feeling (no acceleration). It is almost like the gears have to reset them selves at the stopped position then they are fine.
Answer Jason: Are you thinking this is caused by the engine or the transmission? Is there is any other problems with either or both? I would have the computer coded, the computer controls everything with the help of all kinds of sensors through out the engine and transmission. Still if there is a hesitation feeling could be the fuel pump is not putting out enough fuel. But you can have that tested too, to make sure the pump is putting out enough pressure. You know don't you that the pump is cooled by the fuel, you never should let your car get down below 1/4 of a tank. But with this high cost of fuel, a lot of people are trying to get all they can get out of that fuel and so been replacing a lot of fuel pumps of late. Still if you get the computer coded, it might kick out what is going on with the hesitation as to the engine running to lean or to rich. If you have an AutoZone close by they will code your car for free. Also get that fuel pump checked too. Hope this helps and God bless: Linda
