AboutAnthony Falcone Expertise I have been working with (and driving) a first generation Mitsubishi Eclipse for several years. Anything that could go wrong with an Eclipse has probably happened on mine. Fortunately, I have gained a lot of knowledge from experience in repairing these problems myself.

Question I have a '93 Mitsubishi eclipse - 1.8 - the speedometer stopped working completely, all other gauges work fine including RPM. Any idea what could be causing this?
Answer Mario,
This is typically caused by a bad vehicle speed sensor. It's attached to your transmission and has a small gear on it that spins at the rate your transmission does. If that gear has broken or other aspect of the sensor failed, your speedometer will not work correct. Have that inspected and replaced it necessary.
Good luck!
