hey man if you figure out the problem please post answer i am in same boat i am going to replace crank senor and try to locate the pcm module

I had the same problem and believe or not the cause of the problem is loss of coolant. there is a coolant sensor close to the  device where the gas mix with the air. If there is not coolant in that spot you will have the problem, unstable rpm and white smoke from exhaust
