I have the same exact problem with my 2000 Mirage. The water drips from behind the dash in to the front under the dash, behind the center air duct.
If you find an aswner or diagram of the unit it would be great!

I have a 2000 eclipse, and was having the same problem..There is a drain hose, but its hard to see, its behind some firewall insulation right next to the motor mount, and next to the steering u-joint under the hood..But is was not stopped up..The water was draining, but it was running back underneath the hose and draining back into the car..I just had to add a piece of bigger hose to it about 4 or 5 inches
long and pointed it down..

There is a drain. its behind the AC on the drivers side, right above the gas pedal if the carpet is removed the other end is by the firewall of the car. look by the center engine mount. Hope this helps

Wgat he is saying is true, it is a problem on the eclipses. mine is doing the same thing. he is not saying the freon is leaking out, rather the condensation is overflowing into the car. their is a drain pan inside, just like your home AC, and if the line gets clogged, it overflows. i have been looking around, but haven't found the location either. thinking it should be somewhere on the firewall under the hood.

Didja' ever see an air conditioner that DID NOT drain water? Drain pipes, tubes Drain pans, etc., etc. The drain hose comes undone in these models and water pours in onto the driver's side floorboard. You have to remove an engine mount to get to get to the drain. Take out the four floorboard drain plugs until you get it fixed.

On the 2001 Mitsubishi Eclipes the air box is located behind the radio the drain is behind the gas pedal on the left side of the box there is a black plastic piece going out into the firewall i turned the car on and turned on the a/c and noticed it was condensating back into the car filling up the floor board front in back over time little amount can fill all of it in time. it will eventually leak out of the back end of the car. took me a while to find it.

the a/c system takes humidity out of the air causing water to come from the a/c witch is suposed to drain out side of the car (the puddle of water under your car after driving with the a/c on). I am having the same problem with my 00 eclipse with the water coming in on the drivers side floor. I think the seal around the drain line that comes through the fire wall is bad. i am not 100% sure< i am still trying to find a cheap & easy fix. Good luck.

I just had this problem with my eclipse and there is a drain. I have the 4 cylinder and I had to take the battery out and the platform that they battery sits on to access the drain. it is near the middle of the car and mid-ways down. I attached some longer drainage tubing and problem was solved.

"""Never heard of ALL DATA?? Your A/C system gets cold and will have moisture on the tubing and compressor..most cars do drip water when A/C is on...this is normal...and if your A/C system had a leak..you wouldnt have cold air blowing...I have never heard of draining in the car?? And when you say draining...what do you mean draining...A/C system has no water in it!!!! JUST FREON! Maybe you have a firewall/water hose leak under the dash??? ARE YOU OVERHEATING?? IF YOUR ARE YOU NEED TO LOOK FOR ANOTHER KIND OF LEAK!"""
First off your an idiot all cars with A/C have whats called a drip pan and if the tube that runs from the floorboard out of the car to the ground gets clogged it fills up n floods the car can be cause by leaves or just build up. take the center councel apart and remove the cover of the drip pan ur just clogged theres no leak the drip pan is only so water tight.

The ac condensation drain is located on the drivers side firewall just above and to the right of the top of the gas pedal.I am having to same trouble on a 2001 eclips.Turn on the ac and pull back the carpet around the gas pedal and you will see youre leak.

My 01 mirage is doing this same thing after driving through a puddle. No one knows yet but don't allow the water to continue to leak onto the ride side floorboard bc now my car is stalling with computer sensorsblems probably from the drainage

My 2001 eclipse gt is doing same thing, there is a video on you tube of problem being fixed, the drain is not stopped up, the little rubber gasket is bad around the drain, put some silicon, gasket maker, etc around drain and it will stop it from leaking back into car.

On 2005 Eclipse remove the plastic air intake plumbing and look down next to steering column cover. I added a small rubber elbow to take the drain water away from firewall and aim it down. Wet carpet problem solved.
