Monitor Problems - Box In Middle of Screen

Expert: Chris Morrison - 7/23/2008

Question
QUESTION: Hi,

I have a Komodo monitor.  A box appears in the middle of the screen with a percent number in the middle of it. What is that and how do I get rid of it?  Right now I press some buttons on the monitor and it goes away for a  while but returns.

Thanks

ANSWER: Try cleaning the monitor.
Uplug it and purchase some canned air from an office supply store.
Blow out all the vent holes of the monitor.
Leave it unplugged for about one day.
Plug it back in and use the buttons on the front to enter the monitor menu and choose to reset.

QUESTION: Thanks.  one more thing.  How do I know what is the reset button?  I don't have the manual to consult.

Answer
The reset should be in the monitors menu. All the menus are different so I can't say exactly where it is.
If you use the buttons on the front to enter the monitor's menu there should be an option to reset or load factory defaults.
There may also be an auto button on the front that, depending on the maker, this usually does the same thing.
