Monitor Problems - Computer screen problem

Question
I had to take my Dell computer to the shop, virus had hijacked my computer.  So, computer guy reformated my hard drive, reinstalled Windows XP.  Only problem I have now is when I am on the internet and scrolling web pages the screen is very jerky and only way I can describe it is "wavy".  I feel like I am looking at screen through waves.  I have tried to download my Dell 2000FP monitor driver, but I can not figure out how to install it, when I follow the directions Dell provides it says to click control panel/display/settings/advanced/monitor/properties/driver tab/update driver, but mine won't let me select update driver (it is grayed out).  The current monitor for my computer says it is "default monitor".  Is video controller VGA anything to do with monitor?  I need help!

Answer
The computer tech most likely did not install the driver for your vga adapter.
Go to dells website ,enter your service code, and go to support and drivers. Go to the drivers page and select the video adapter driver and download it. Install the driver.
Reboot the computer.
After boot up right click my computer. Choose manage. Scroll down to device manager. Expand monitor, right click your monitor and select update driver (you should be able to do that now), select install from a specific location and point the computer to where you have the driver stored.
