i have same problem as above but an old monitor doesnt work either,just see a box in middle of screen blue and red saying doesnt detect monitor,

The graphics card may very well be the issue, but I would also take into the account of possible bad capacitors and if your are moving the monitor from one location to another to test the second computer, the second location may have a more stable power source, causing the monitor to "work".



As I said, the graphics card is most likely the culprit given you've mentioned you recently got a new graphics card.
