Answer
Purchase some canned air from a local office supply store. Unplug the monitor and computer. Use the canned air to blow out all the vent holes of the monitor. Leave the monitor unplugged for about one day.
Open the computer case and use the canned air to blow out the computer. Pay special attention to the fans and the power supply. For the power supply use the canned air to blow ou the vent holes on both sides.
If you video card is an add on card, remove the screw from the back of the case an d remove the card. Reinsert the card and make sure it is snug. Close the case and plug the computer back in.
After about 1 day plug the monitor back in and use the menu buttons on the front of the monitor to enter the monitor menu. Go through the setting and choose to reset the monitor.
Boot the computer and check function. If the problems persists try the monitor on another computer. Also try another monitor on your computer.
If when you use the monitor elsewhere the problem persists, you need to have the monitor repaired or replaced.
If the problem goes away when you use the monitor elsewhere but the problem persists on your computer with a different monitor you'll need to replace your video card.
