About James
Expertise
I can answer questions about the television series, such as plotlines, guest stars, when the show(s) aired, what song(s) were performed, etc. In most cases I can even tell you which show used a certain line or contained a certain scene, although some of the more trivial questions may require some research on my part.

Experience
I am a first generation fan, having originally watched the programs on NBC in 1966. I have all episodes on DVD and several reference books that add to the knowledge.

Monkees, The - monkees tv show

Expert: James - 3/21/2009

Question
I was sure the Monkees performed a cover of "Son of a Preacher Man" on one of their TV episodes, but a google search has turned up nothing. Did they really do that? The lyrics would sound very strange if they did.

Answer
Hello and thanks for the question.

The Monkees as a group, or to my knowledge none of the members as a solo act have ever recorded Son of a Preacher Man.  Could you describe the plot of the episode you are remembering?  Maybe I could help reconstruct it for you.

Randall
