I also own a copy of the piece in question. I acquired it in 1985. It was purchased in a small art gallery in San Francisco's "Castro" district. Iam trying to establish a value on the piece. I actually looks like a hand-drawn litho of the Stern pics.

Just an addition to this old post; I am not an expert but here's what I know:

I have an original of this "Photo" Painting from 25-30 years ago. My original does not have the side images, only the central image of Marilyn on a white background. It is based on the Stern photos from "The Last Sitting" But what you have is not a photo, it's a painting.

I purchased it in Los Angeles Ca. "Trout", as far as I know, is an artist who does "did" work for Tower Records, painting the large album cover reproductions for the outside of the buildings. I could be wrong on this point, but it's what I was told at the time of my purchase.

His full name is Paul Trout, I have done many Internet searches and have come up with little to nothing as far as info on him.

Expertise

I can answer questions pertaining to almost all aspects of Marilynís life and career. Iím familiar with her movies, training, and accomplishments and can also field inquiries regarding her childhood, relationships (romantic, friendships and otherwise), emotional and medical ailments, and what she was like in general. I am a fan of Marilyn Monroe and her work. I am not a memorabilia dealer and cannot give you estimates on Marilyn merchandise or collectibles. Thank you for understanding.

Experience

Iíve been a Marilyn Monroe fan since the early 1980s and grew up watching her films on television. Iíve spent countless hours researching her and have built up an extensive library on all things Marilyn. As a Southern California native, I have been able to easily visit and photograph many of the sites that played important roles in Marilynís life, such as houses, studios, restaurants, her grave, and so on. Furthermore, I have visited sites in San Diego, Reno/Dayton, and New York City that were homes or filming sitesóallowing me to retrace many of Marilynís steps, literally.
