Question Hi.........do you know anything about Dave Van Horne's broadcasting background? I worked with a Dave Van Horne who was the sports director for station WRNL in Richmond, VA. back in the late 1960s. I moved away and have often wondered if he is the same Dave Van Horne who became the "voice of the Montreal Expos." Thanks for any light you can share on this. Bob Corder
Answer Hi Bob,
As a matter of fact, Dave Van Horne was the voice of the Expos for a long time, up until the early 2000s when he went to take up the same duties with the Florida Marlins, Van Horne left because mostly of the uncertainty surrounding the Expos, he also lives in West Palm Beach and as an avid golfer, it was a good move and the right time for him to do so. We sure miss him here in Montreal, but hey, pretty soon it won't just be Dave that we'll be missing :-)
