Montreal Expos - First basemaun in 1994 and 1995

Expert: Scot Hughes - 12/15/2000

Question
List of players who played first base
during the 1994 and 1995 seasons.

Answer
Phil, you asked about players who played 1B for the Montreal Expos in 1994 and 1995.

In 1994, the Expos opened the season with Cliff Floyd and Randy Milligan splitting time at first. Floyd got the vast majority of the playing time. As the season progressed, Larry Walker came down with some nagging injuries, and before the strike he saw a fair bit of playing time at first.

1995 opened with Cliff Floyd slated as the everyday 1B. About a month into the season, though, Floyd shattered his wrist on a play at 1B, and spent the rest of the year on the DL. The Expos acquired Henry Rodriguez to play first, but he got hurt after playing only a handful of games as well, and so they went out and got David Segui from the Mets. I think Shane Andrews and Sean Berry each saw some time at first (in between the injuries), but I don't think either of them played more than 10 games.

Hope that helps.

Scot.
