Question Hi...thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I'm just curious, what is the likelyhood that Urbina will be traded during the current season? If they are a contending team will they still deal him? Do you think they'll get someone of equal value? Is there any chance they'll just hold onto him for the season, especially since they're off to a 5-1 start? Thanks in advance.
Marc
Answer Hi Marc,
As you said, if the Expos are still in a race by July 31st, Urbina is not going anywhere. Unless they "really" need a quality starter, then maybe Urbina could be dealt, and Strickland and Mota would form the "closer by committee". But if they're not in a race (10-15 games back), he'll most likely be dealt to a contender (preferrably in the AL). I don't know about what we would get for Urbina except that it won't be the infamous "3 prospects"...
Right now, Urbina is still a valuable part of this team (he's saved 3 of 5), and even though the season's just starting, 5-1 is pretty darn good, considering we swept the Mets.
Hope this answers your question in the best way possible, if you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask
