Actually, an Expo is not a human being or an entity in itself. The Expos were named as such after the World's Fair which was held in Montreal in 1967 and was known around these parts as Expo '67. It was so widely popular at the time (more than 2,000,000 visitors in 2 weeks) that a year later, in 1968, when it was announced there would be a MLB franchise in Montreal, the unanimous choice for team name was Expos, in honor of Expo '67.
