Question I have a 98 Fatboy which had been lowered when I purchased it. The fork length now is 29" from axle center to the top of the tube. I would like to put a new front end on it with 5 degree rake in the trees. What would be the best way to find out the length of the new forks to keep the same ride height? I can not find what the stock length was. I know on an FXST it is 31" don't know if this is the same for the FLST. Thanks for any help you may give.
Answer What you need to do is install the 5 degree rake in the trees. jack the bike up so the frame is level. Measure from the triple tree to where the the axle will be. take the measurement and subtract the length of the forks and that will tell you how much longer hte forks should be
Good luck and happy riding
