Motorcycle Repair - 2 cylinders

If the 84 is CDI electronic ignition there are 2 "black" boxes that run 1 coil each - each coil runs 2 cylinders - try this - if it will fire at all on 2 cylinders swap your CDI boxes around and see if it is firing on the other 2.
Then you know your CDI box is bad - figure out which 1 has no output and replace it.
On my 80 750ss Honda 1 box runs the coil for #1 and #4 cylinder and the other runs #2 and #3, but on the magna's the boxes run the 2 cylinders up or the 2 forward. Box failure is common and some of the older ones are getting harder to find so if you plan on keeping your ride buy an extra one, wrap it up good and throw it in the toolkit.
Good luck
