Question I have a 1975 Honda trail 90 K6ct90. I purchased new front boot forks but cant figure out how to replace them. What is the proceedure for replacing these boots. I removed the top bolt holding the shaft but the shaft will still not come out.
Answer On the back side of the steering stem, you will find a pinch bolt that clamps the fork in the stem. Remove that bolt completely. Pull down the old boot and grab the fork tube and give it a twist as you work it out. Sometimes you may have to drive a screwdriver or something into the slot in the fork stem pinch bolt to open up the clearances a little. They should come right out.
