Question s&s on a 2002 indian spirit. has set for a couple mos. tried to start after several attempts noticed eng oil coming out of a tube located on the back on eng near the bottom. is this some sort of crank case relief? maybe self siphoning?
Answer That is the vent for the bottom end of the motor. What happens is the oil tank probably weeped some oil past the check valve in the oil pump. It goes into the bottom end. When you go to start the bike, oil comes out the vent, due to the oil pump cant pump it back fast enough. Whne you get it started some oil might come out, but it will stop when its pumped back
