Motorcycle Repair - wiring harness fitment

Question
I have a92 flh ultra classic, has a burnt harness.I have found various differences between 90,91,92,93,as far as plugs, wire colors etc.I have searched everywhere to find a complete harness for year specific 92. the best that is available is a ultra harness for a 1990. I called the customer service in Milwaukee and the tech said to change all the plugs that dont fit.given all that is involved doing it that way,it might take me forever,as that is not my best field. what do you think? thanks Craig

Answer
If you cant find a harness for your 92 then you are going to have to go the route of using a different year. I would suggest that if you get a 1990 harness that you get a 1990 service manual to follow as well as a 1992 so you can see the difference. The wire should be close to the same as well as the plugs. the plugs are not that tough to change out and you shouldnt have to change that many.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
