Question
When starting up I only get the clicking sound from the transmission area. Bought the bike in -99 and have a only a few thousands miles on it. Have not been started for the last 3 1/2 years. A battery charger have been connected keeping the battery charged (at least that's what it indicates) When push start I only get one small spin and then I get the high clicking sound. Battery connectors are OK. I have changed oils and have put in new spark-plugs. What could this be?

Answer
First, I would have the battery tested or just replace it. A battery sitting for that long is probably bad. All the water has probably boiled out of it. Once you replace the battery if it still just clicks, the the starter relay is probably bad
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
