Motorcycle Repair - 1967 Harley Sprint value

Expert: Mike Wells - 11/3/2009

Question
I have had a 1967 Harley Sprint, sitting in my garage for a good 12 years. Before my garage, I was told it sat in the original owners garage for at least 15 to 20 years after it's single piston engine froze up and he was unable to get it unfroze. I've had a few people offer to take it off my hands, but none of them seemed to be fair enough to me, even though I have absolutely no idea how much it is worth. It has all the original parts down to the kick stand, and what I thought was neat about it, was it is set up for Italian racing, or so I was told, and everything is on the right hand side of the bike, like the kick start, stand, shifter, etc. and something I had never heard of, is that it doesn't need a battery, has only one spark plug, and a single piston engine. Well like I said, all the original parts are still attached, and the engine parts that were removed upon original trial of repair, I have in a box. The bike itself looks great body wise, even the seat. Was wanting to know what you thought would be a FAIR offer, to take it off my hands, or for me to ask .

Answer
Since its been sitting that long and the motor needs to be gone through, its not going to be worth much. I can give you the prices acording to condition.

Excellent   4600.00
very good   2400.00
good        1700.00
fair        1000.00
poor         750.00

Good luck and happy riding
Mike
