QUESTION: When I bought the bike new in 2006, Harley sent me a recall notice for
the bearing then a week later sent me a notice saying to disregard the
recall notice. now at 14000 miles when in neutral the primary case makes a loud noise like a noisy bearing so i called harley and they told me the 2006 fxdi modile and only the 2006 modile was found defective and that the bearing needed to be changed every 15000 miles
I love my Dyna but im not about to change a noisy bearing every 15000 miles, if there is no perment solution i guess ill just have to get rid of it!
Thank You
Mike Venditte

Answer
Not really sure why they told you that. That bearing is not different than any other big bike. They all use the same bearing. If you look at the v-twin manufacturing on-line catalog on page 386 they do sell a bearing that is sealed and it should solve your problem.
Good luck and happy riding
Mike
