Question
Do I have to dismount the motor to change the O rings on the water tube that links the two cylinders, or is there another way? I have a small coolant leak between the front and back cylinders.

Answer
John, have a look at this page:

WATER PIPE illustrations. The water pipes are bolted onto the engine, so once the bolt is removed, the water pipes can be moved up and down enough for removal and the change of the O-rings. Make sure everything is VERY clean and put some silicone grease/spray on the O-rings, so they can move into place without catching an edge on any adjacent parts.

Expertise

Need help with vintage Hondas from the 1960s? I am an expert with 250-305cc bikes in particular and most all of the other pre-91 models, in general. I do NOT claim to have a great deal of experience on Gold Wings, Cruisers, ATC/ATVs and dirt bikes.

Experience

I have owned/ridden/maintained Honda motorcycles for 35 years. I have written five books on Honda repairs and collecting. I was a service manager for two Honda shops back in the 1980s.
