Question
QUESTION: my father got ill and let his motorcycle sit for a little less than a year and I want to fix it to ride. What all do I need to do to get the bike ready.

QUESTION: its a harley davidson xlh 2005 883 custom

Answer
I would drain the gas and put fresh in. Cherge the battery and see if the bike will start. If it wont, the carb will probably be dirty, so it would need to be taken off and cleaned out. Once you have it running, let it warm up and then shut if off and change the fluids
