Question
i have a 76 fx 1200  shovelhead with a 4 speed and it leaks trany fluid around the sprocket. my manual shows the vent screw middle left but it is in the 2nd hole from the right.i replaced main seal behind sprocket and the small shaft seal between sprocket and inner primary. it seem to leak worse in the morning when i 1rst start it up and when i ride it sling oil all over the back of the bike.i want to take my wife for a ride but she said the leak has to be fixed first. could someone please help me

Answer
There is a seal betweent he mainshaft and 4th gear you probably need to replace. Its inside 4th gear at the end. When you pull it apart and if you see that the main seal is still leaking then you need to replace the spacer that the seal ride on.
Good luck and happy riding
