Motorcycle Repair/Suzuki VS800 stalls when not in gear

Question
Hi,

I recently puchased a '94 Intruder 800 VTwin with 7800 miles on it. During the test drive of the bike, it stalled while I was in neutral and if I held in the clutch too long while braking/slowing down. The dealer said it was likely due to the bike not being ridden much recently. He also said they cleaned the carbs and changed the oil. I figured it could be cheap/old gas. After 3 tank fillups with high and mid grade fuel, the bike still stalls in those situations. It also stalls if I rock the throttle to quickly while in neutral. Could the idle speed be too low ? Need new spark plugs ?

Any clues as to what is going on ?
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Rick,

I suspectthe idle may be adjusted too low, or the carburetor synchronization is off. It could be something other, but I'd check these first.

It's a buyer beware market, but see if the seller (dealer) will make it right.
