Question
I have a 1997 Katana 600. It has sat for about two years getting
cranked from time to time to keep things operating. I wanted to
sell it this summer but could not keep it running. It has new oil,
plugs and battery. When I first start it, it runs kind of rough and
slugish. After it warms up this improves some but it will not stay
ideling. I unpluged the hose that runs from the fuel cock to the
carb to create a vaccum leak. The bike would now idel at 1,000
RPM. I then put my finger over the hole in the carb to stop the leak.
The engine increased to 1,600 and seem to rev much better. Once I
put the hose back on, the engine dies. Any idea what my problem
may be? Thanks, George

Answer
ok i had same ptoblem with 1400 suzuki intruder., look ath the carbs there is an over flow line coming off the bowls stick a small wire in ther to clean out for air ,this should solve the problem if not, take off carbs clean bowls real good anb blow ow jets this will solve it im sure.good luck and keep riding.
