Motorcycle Repair/won't start

Question
I have a 1987 kawasaki 305 LMD, but it hates cold weather, when it's warm out it'll start right up, as soon as the weather cooled off she won't start, the other day we wanted to go on a ride, and the night got down to 40's, but I kept a heater under it hoping this would do the trick, but no way, we had to spray the carb with eather several times, and after about 20 min of struggling with it, and keeping a battery charger on it so it would have a good charge, it finally started, but I had to hold it open for several minutes so it wouldn't quit again, what gives with this bike?  thanks, ellie

Answer
Ah, u r experiencing a jet issue.  When the weather cools, or at higher altitudes your O2 to gas mix goes rich.  Try turning down your air/fuel screw 1/4 turn until it evens out, waiting five min. before each adjustment.  The bike must b warm for this proceedure.  U may also want to purchase a K&N FACTORY replacement air filter instead of messing with carb adjustments.  Good luck and let me know!
