Question hi i have a 1986 honda xr 100 and i have just rebuilt the engine. At high revs it starts missing and slowing down. My friend put his hand over the exhaust and it stalled before it was missing do you think it could have done something to the motor. also it has a buckled rim would that effect it.
Answer this sounds like not enough fuel reaching the carbs, upon acceleration, try cleaning out the bowls and all the jets in the carbs ,think this will help you. also make sure no restrictions in the air box, this could stop the air flo from being correct for the bike to run upon accelerationgood luck. and keep riding. if the bike was idling real low and you restrict the exhaust surelly it will die it cannot let out pressure it's like choking an engine. good luck and keep riding
