Question
My brother recetly purchassed a kawasaki zx10 (1990 - B3 model) as a 'non-runner' from a local dealer who claimed to have stored it for roughly a year.  He also claimed that prior to storage the engine was 'sweet as a nut' but now it wouldn't start because the float bowls
needed cleaning.

My brother's done this and now it starts but won't idle and the engine needs at least 4000rpm on the clock to run. What next?

Also, the carbs fitted are 36mm Kehins, with five rubber branch pipes, are these the right ones?  A dealer in Wales suggested buying Ninja 34mm carbs of an ZXR750 and claimed that in the old days, this was a mod. to boost performance on early zx10s. Is this correct?

first thanks for using all experts website for your questions.i think this is what you really shoud do,
it sounds to me that maybe you should try and adjust the height of the needle valve on the accelerator in the carburetor to let more fuel flow to keep a steady idle
. there should br some little notches on thr needle valve to raise or lower needle valve in the bowls jet, if its to high it will idle to fast if it to low it want idle . also i would look at the overflow line leavn the carbs they are possibbly restricted i think this will solve yur problem i don thinlk the carbs have to be changed as someone else has told you.sounds like lo fuel be recievd to intakes
